Canberra Royal Flyball Competition
Sat/Sun 27/28 February 2010Our trip as usual was wonderful with some of us staying with friends and some camping. Saturday was hot & dusty, Sunday a little cooler with the odd storm, rain & lightning. All dogs were exceptional with the weekend full of noise & excitement. Thanks to all who travelled and made the weekend a memorable one of lots of fun spending time with our furry creatures. The “Spitfires” (Rippa, Maggie, Oscar, Chilli, Roxy) came 2nd in Div 2 with five teams competing but “Norwest 3” were just a little too good for us in the end, but we gave them a run for their money as they beat us 3-2 in a couple of our races.
The “B52’s” (Shah, Bungee, Gus, Pippa, Lochie, Shae) came 6th out of 7 teams but came home with their heads held up high with a lot of close racing and most of their races were clear runs so lots of points after the weekend. Congratulations to “Bungee” handled by Pam Atkinson on gaining their FMCh (Flyball Master Champion) title, 1,000pts.

If you've read anything at all about Flyball, you'll know it's fast, fun and adictive! The Eastside Flyers consists of a group of flyball enthusiasts in the Eastern suburbs who have come together to basically have fun with their dogs and teach responsible dog ownership. We train at Pembroke Secondary College at 2 Old Hereford Rd, Mt Evelyn during the winter months on Saturday mornings (9am for beginners and 11am for team training), and Tuesday (beginner dogs) evenings at 6.00pm & Wednesday (advanced or team training) evenings at 6.00pm during daylight savings times. | | The Eastside Flyers Team wish you special times with your

| | We are very proud to have won the 2006 AFA Novice Flyball Club of the Year Award...this is awarded to recently formed teams who have contributed the most to Flyball during the year by the number of competitions hosted, competitions entered, and qualified Judges within the team.
