BORDER CHALLENGE – PORTLAND FLYBALL COMP
– Sunday 13th June 2010

What a beautiful place Portland is!  Those that couldn’t go missed a great trip, nice and relaxing.  We traveled down on Friday, relaxed and did beach walks on Saturday, had the comp Sunday and for some of us more relaxing on the Monday.  The obedience grounds for the comp were immaculate, excellent for doing flyball on. We must thank the Portland Obedience Dog Club for their exceptional hospitality (and great catering!). The weather was cool but mainly fine…a few beers afterwards with friends…what more could you ask for.  (Eric is tempted to retire there…with the lure of tuna fishing!)

Now for the flyball:  The “Spitfires” (Rippa, Maggie, Riley, Roxy) were awarded 2nd place in division 1 officially, but unofficially we came 3rd as there was a error to be found.  The “Mustangs” (Oscar, Shah, Chilli, Moses, Shae) came 2nd in division 2 and the “B52’s (Lochie, Bungee, Gus, Pippa, Tia) came 1st in division 4. All the dogs ran exceptionally well.  It was one of the most relaxing comps we have had.

Congratulations to – “Tia” handled by Juli Gestier on gaining their FDCh title of which you need to accumulate 50pts - well done Juli & Tia!

While we have a break in comps now until the next comp at Yarram in September, training continues to work on problems (and just have fun).

PS Don’t forget that AFA and Eastside Flyer fees are now due.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you've read anything at all about Flyball, you'll know it's fast, fun and adictive!
The Eastside Flyers consists of a group of flyball enthusiasts in the Eastern suburbs who have come together to basically have fun with their dogs and teach responsible dog ownership. We train at Pembroke Secondary College at 2 Old Hereford Rd, Mt Evelyn during the winter months on Saturday mornings (9am for beginners and 11am for team training), and Tuesday (beginner dogs) evenings at 6.00pm & Wednesday (advanced or team training) evenings at 6.00pm during daylight savings times.
The Eastside Flyers Team wish you special times with your
four-legged mates.
We are very proud to have won the 2006 AFA Novice Flyball Club of the Year Award...this is awarded to recently formed teams who have contributed the most to Flyball during the year by the number of competitions hosted, competitions entered, and qualified Judges within the team.
Well done team!
