RACV AUSTRALIA DAY FLYBALL CELEBRATION - Thursday 26th January 2012

We were very proud of our team at the RACV comp as we hosted the competition, always a huge amount of work! It was a great day and Eastside Flyers can walk around with their heads held high. We received numerous messages from others teams, thanking Eastside for a wonderful competition. Thanks to each and every member for their contributions and great team work.

In terms of the comp, it was bit trying at different stages as some of our dogs found new ways to do some things differently...but that is the challenge of flyball! Our team results:
Lightings (Cindy, Jack, Max, Piper, and Lizzie) came 3rd in Divisoin 1; Spitfires (Rippa, Rennie, Jack, Maggie, and Maddi) came 3rd in Division 2; Hornets (Sundae, Motley, Zack, Penny and Ted) came 2nd in Division 3; and the B52's (Bungee, Lochie, Shah, Darcy, Oscar and Bella) came 2nd in Division 5.
The Lightnings broke the Eastside Flyers record with a best time of 18.796 seconds!!!
Congratulations to Rennie and Mark Jamieson on gaining their FM (Flyball Masters) title of 400 points.
At this RACV competition we also introduced "The Fluffies Award" in memory of Sue Wilkinson which is to be awarded to the winner of the lowest division of the competition. At this comp we were pleased to award "The Fluffies Award" to the Western Weiners Corn Dogs.
We hope to see you at our upcoming competitions: Berwick, Saturday 11th February; Seymour, Saturday 18th February; and Canberra Royal Show, 25th/26th February

If you've read anything at all about Flyball, you'll know it's fast, fun and adictive!

The Eastside Flyers consists of a group of flyball enthusiasts in the Eastern suburbs who have come together to basically have fun with their dogs and teach responsible dog ownership. We train at Yarra Hills Secondary College at 2 Old Hereford Rd, Mt Evelyn during the winter months on Saturday mornings (9am for beginners and 11am for team training), and Tuesday (beginner dogs) evenings at 6.00pm & Wednesday (advanced or team training) evenings at 6.00pm during daylight savings times.
